Chag Atzmaut Sameach - Happy Independence Day! Flyover!

For those interested, here's the information regarding the airshow: https://www.matas-iaf.com/

The map only works from cellphones but lists all cities and times for each plane

This year, in addition to various IAF aircraft, there will be an LY 787 and IZ Embraer 195

I have to say I was a little disappointed at the altitude of the flyover - should have been lower. Also, would have been better with a 747! I heard a few families that were disappointed that the "jumbo" didn't make an appearance.

The 787 in question was 4X-EDC operating as flight "LY 70"...

Will they have to cancel the BOM flight next year to avoid confusion? :-)

Guess it depends where you were watching from - they were pretty low by us (Apollonia Park, just north of Herzliya - right on the water)

I don't know, when I'm at Apollonia I feel I'm pretty high above sea level... :-)

I saw the 789 in the Jordan Valley and I thought the altitude was pretty low.

I was watching from the Tel Aviv marina - maybe I should have climbed up to the hill next to the Hilton so it would have seemed lower.

i watched the practice flights from the Hilton last week. Pretty impressed since I didn't put it together that it was for the celebration at first. Quite the surprise out the window
