End of Worthwhile Downgrade Compensation
Apparently, as of tomorrow - Jan 15th - Elal will no longer be offering a same class round-trip ticket as compensation for accepting a class downgrade at check-in. From now on only a one-way ticket - in the same class as that from which you've been downgraded - will be offered.

How exactly would that work? So you get a one way ticket forcing you to purchase an ultra expensive one way ticket back?

Is this official? where is it published?
Thanks

It is very much worthwhile to those who choose to accept it. The fact that individuals here on FT may not find it a useful offer is irrelevant. Downgrades are fungible. If LY needs one seat and it can find it in return for a thank you note, why on earth would it offer more?
