I would advise everyone not to "have fun" with security....

While I agree, nothing we've said here isn't extensivley covered elsewhere in articles on El Al security. Bonus points to those who spot the bits of hidden equipment they carry as well Maybe that should be a game for PM

Having had a major run-in with LY security in LHR back in December '12, I drew up a list of all of the questions asked to me (for the purposes of the complaint I then filed). From memory, there were around 47 questions, and I'm sure the agent would have tried to think up some more...

Besides, the 'stock' questions are ones that everyone knows (and has their answers prepared for). Discussing them in general won't be any issue security-wise IMO, as the agents are (supposed) to be trained in items like body-language as well

While I'm sorry that happened to you, 47 questions is not a "major" run in with security in TLV. It can be much, much worse

Whilst I might be minded to agree with you, as I stated in my OP this happened at LHR...where the staff turnover is low, and I fly through there regularly (and know quite a few people there).
Not to go into major details of what happened, but the agent questioning me (who took over from the first agent after 2 questions) didn't seem to like me, and had a major chip on her shoulder (which became more obvious with a run-in at the gate with her).

Same guys/training, location doesn't really matter. I also occasionally get the "full" question set and not the "short" question set. I have an Israeli passport and speak to them in hebrew etc etc and have flown with them 5 zillion times.

I think just like regular security, they also randomly grill people. Best not to take it personally unless they comment it looks like you've gained some weight since we last spoke. Even then, for all they know, you're smuggling something this time.

As you or someone stated earlier they are trained in body language. YOUR feeling that she had a chip on her shoulder, showed to her. BUT, she may not have known the why to your attitude--so she questioned and questioned to determine it. As a retired educator, NOT trained in body language, it only takes experience to spot the student who doesn't like me. They are usually very verbal in their non-verbal expressions and actions. Sorry to say but you probably brought the more thorough check upon yourself.

Without going into more detail as to what happened, the feeling of 'chip on the shoulder' came about during the questioning, as a result of the specific questions asked/way they were asked.
As well, this was reinforced by an experience at the gate with the same agent.
