Problem making payment

I’ve had so much trouble booking several flights for my dad on the easyJet website. I’ve tried using my iPad (Safari & easyJet App), my iPhone (Safari & easyJet App) my Dad’s laptop (Chrome) and my Aunt’s Chromebook. On all devices we tried using my easyJet account and my Dad’s easyJet account and used 3 different credit cards of mine, one of my Dad’s and one of my Aunt’s credit cards. Every single time when we got to the payment page and submitted the card details it came up “Payment Error!” I must have tried at least a dozen times to book a flight with no luck. I called easyJet and they said there were no issues on their side and that it must be my cards! The call handler seemed more interested in telling me repeatedly that I couldn’t have the online price over the phone as it wasn’t their fault! I tried them again via chat and was told to clear cookies and contact them again banks if the issue continued! I eventually gave up and booked BA, who actually worked out cheaper with the included luggage and accepted payment first go, no issues. Anyone have any ideas on what the issue is with easyJet’s website and me?

So you are not being blocked from the website, you are just having issues making payment? Are you using a VPN or ad blocker? Are you making the payment from within the UK, is that the same region of the credit/debit card you are using?

No, can access the website and go through the motions of making a booking, but as soon as I put in all of the payment details, click continue, it comes up with an payment error message. As Ive said, Ive used multiple cards, over multiple devices and the end result is always the same.

Yes, based in the UK, actually located in the UK and using UK issued major credit cards (Amex, Visa credit & debit & Mastercard). Not using a VPN, no.

This is a strange one. You did presumably clear the cookies as suggested? If this happens again try making the booking in private/incognito mode and avoid auto-fill for the card details (I've had issues making payment online on other websites populating the card details this way). If none of that works try a different network (for example not your home Wi-Fi or mobile) just in case it is a temporary issue with your network provider.

Let us know how you get on, if you ever try them again!
