Quick eu261 question

Hello - EasyJet cancelled my Nice-Gatwick flight on Monday only a few hours before I was due to travel. They offered a choice of a voucher or refund, or flying to LGW the next day. I opted for a refund, which is in process. Am I entitled to apply for EU261 compensation or, having opted for a refund, is that the end of story? The exact reason for the cancellation hasn't been made clear. Thanks everyone.

That depends on the cause of the cancellation. But yes, if the reason for cancellation falls inside EC261 then compensation of 220 is due.
