Double Booked - Options?

Double Booked - Options?
We had booked ourselves (2) in Economy with one bag total in the hold. Newquay - Manchester - Amsterdam.
Then the travel agent for the other couple we are vacationing with also booked us Newquay - Manchester only as that is where the other couple is going to (after spending a week together) , in row 5 which gets us each an overhead bag + hold. We 4 are on the same PNR for this flight booked by the travel agent.
I guess we need to check in for at least our own booking and then theirs to all sit together in row 5? Or can we somehow get credit for the duplicate segment? Options?
