Easyjet Dumped us in Lyon

Thought I would share our EZY experience at the weekend.

7 of us on a gentleman's weekend to Monte-Carlo.

Caught the 13:55 flight from STN to NCE. 20 Minutes into the flight the captain announces that NCE is closed due to high winds and we will be diverting to MRS. Oh well. not too much of a problem.

An hour later he says the weather has improved and the plane infront of ours has landed ok and that he will attempt the landing..... He aborts at about 100 feet (must admit I've had worse landings)

Then informs us that he's diverting to Lyon! That's over 300 miles away.

Upon arrival we are all told to get off and that coaches will be waiting and that an easyjet representitive will be in the terminal to help.

Low and behold. No easyjet rep and no coaches. Waited an hour. No one showed up so had to hire a car and then drive 5 hours to our hotel.

To make things worse. Not long after they had dumped us all. The plane was back in the air and on the ground in NCE to make it's return trip to STN

This really has pee'd me off!!!!

This is the board for discussion of BAEC related matters. I think you want this board for U2 matters: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/othe...-airlines-469/

Whilst you may be annoyed there may be lots of reasons for diverting to Lyon rather than MRS.

How many people were on the flight? Was it just the 7 of you? If there were many more, I can't imagine 100 or more people stranded just like that in the terminal. Maybe you just didn't find the easyjet CS desk?

Can't speak of Lyon, but I've been in similar circumstances with quite a number of airlines, the reps do hide sometimes when they have not been authorized to deliver a solution. Sometimes they are not even there - as they were not expecting the flight.
