Interesting, there's one on El Camino Real in Sunnyvale and I always thought it was overpriced for fast food -- but it sure does a good lunch business.

El Pollo Loco is definitely my favorite fast food chain. Juan Pollo has not made it down to San Diego yet.
But one of the downsides of these large chains is that they displace the non-chain or much smaller chain places. We used to have a great little operation here called El Pollo Charro, that was clearly superior, but they have gone by the wayside.

I went to the Juan Pollo in East LA today for lunch and tried their shredded chicken soft tacos; very yummy! ^

We find it easier to eat well (low cal) at Pollo Loco than at most fast food chains. Love the taste of the chicken breast; I'll get that and a side of veggies. DH gets almost the same: a twice-grilled meat only burrito and side of veggies, and he tosses the tortilla. When indulging, I get the Caesar bowl, so tasty.
