Snacks That They Just Don't Understand...

Everyone has a different idea of what makes a good snack food...

What's your favorite that friends or family just does not understand the pure deliciousness of?

For me?

Slow Roasted Turkey Tails. Put into a low oven (275 deg. f. ) for 4 or 5 hours till 90% of the fat renders off and you are left with a bit of tender meat and crunchy chicken goodness falling off the bone.

Chicharrones, good eating.

Oh and Kentucky Fried Buches in Tijuana.

SweetTarts. Definitely SweetTarts.

I love some of the Northern English type snacks (fruitcake or currant buns with cheese - you can also see krentenbol met kaas in the Netherlands), but an awful lot of people can't stand the thought of sweet/savoury mixes like this.

returning to the theme of deep-fried: chicken livers and gizzards

As far as chicharrones go ... north of Taos, in a little hamlet called
Arroyo Seco, is Abe's Cantina, a combined bar-convenience store-
cafeteria that has the best menudo and tacos de chicharron that
I've ever encountered.

They make these things called stroopwafeln in the Netherlands which are delicious but definitely an acquired taste.

Instant noodles (straight out of the pack, no boiling or anything).

I do get strange looks when I grab some uncooked spaghetti out of the pack and start crunching away.

I guess I've gone healthy...

Wow, I just bought my first deep fryer this past week and it appears that our family can't handle grease. I tried making chicken fingers, french fries, and onion rings (which all turned out wonderfully), but our stomachs have been messed up for days now. I think I will go back to snacking on oranges, apples, trailmix, and broccolli dipped in mayo. Yuck, even my tongue feels greasy!

Beef jerky. I have only met a handful of people in my entire life that love it like I do. Note: Beef Jerky is not supposed to be sweet at all. Ajay's Montana Bananas is what all jerky should aspire to.

Worcester Sauce Twiglets.

The first bite makes me pucker, but I could eat a whole bag of the nasty things in one sitting.

Can't get them over here, and how- alas- they are gone.

You're right vegemite and marmite are not something most people enjoy!

Sigh. Combos.

Costco trail mix.
