Popcorn and M&M's. Not a strange combination when you talk about it that way, but my method is to take the package of M&M's, dump it into the hot (and preferably buttered) popcorn and let it start to melt. Pretty messy by the time you reach the bottom of the bag, but that's ok -- you won't be moving anytime soon after eating that much. Alas, haven't had it in quite some time as I'm being good about the empty calorie snacking thing.
Now for the revolting snack....my aunt will take a glass of milk, dump in a ton of crushed potato chips, and eat the concoction with a spoon. That's one that I just don't understand. |
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE THESE SNACK FOODs ON A SCHEDULED FLIGHT!
Dice a quarter of a Bermuda Onion as finely as possible. Open a can of good quality sardines and pour off most of the oil. With a fork, mash together the sardines and the onions, adding a bit of diced jalapeno or black pepper to taste. Spread on thin crisp toast. A similar dish, using canned albacore tuna and finely chopped scallions and oil-cured black olives spread on fresh foccacia is equally toothsome, almost as good as foccacia baked with sliced plum tomatoes and anchovies on top. Of course, mashed roasted garlic cloves mixed with olive oil and spread onn toasted peasant bread's hard to beat. |

I do like buttermilk with fresh cornbread and a bowl of homemade chile (not the Cincy/Wendy's kind). |

My sainted grandmother, raised on a ranch in West Texas, had troblesome teeth late in life, and her preferred snack was cornbread crumbled in glass of buttermilk, sometimes adding a dollop of sorghum or ribbon cane syrup or molasses.

My family gets this one, but not a lot of my friends...
Potato Chips (any flavor...I've done this with BBQ, regular potato chips, Sour Cream and Onion and Cheddar and Sour Cream...Doritos and other Tortilla-type chips aren't as good) and Cottage Cheese. One that my entire family gets, but others think is weird until they try is Astoria Cinnamon Toast from the Home Bakery in Astoria, OR. It's like...well, I've described it like a crouton the size of a regular slice of bread with cinnamon sugar. LOL http://www.astoriacinnamontoast.com/ <--- their website...which reminds me, my family needs to make a trip down there and get some more, since our last box drew moisture :(. |

Had a friend that liked liver sausage with grape jelly on French bread
Personally, I like to spread smooth peanut butter on a banana. Yumm... :D |
Trader Joe's now sells these frozen Snickerdoodle Dough balls. I can't stop snacking on them!

Great post...
Pepitas? Pumkin seeds? I make my own and they are great. Do you think they would allow me to take pumpkin seeds on my flight? Also, can I get a pumpkin in June? |
The bar in Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Manhattan serves homemade potato chips or crisps that are unbelievable.
Mmmmm. |
