Homemade Lobster rolls
I have seen the threads on the best lobster rolls restaurants but I am looking for any homemade suggestions. We are throwing a New Years party and I put lobster rolls on the menu. I tried substituting avocado oil for mayo and also using some wasabi but was curious if anyone had some good recipes.

Legal Sea Foods is astonishingly overrated. Neptune Oyster is head and shoulders above it in pretty much every dimension, especially when it comes to lobster rolls.

That would be dangerous for my pocket book. I'd probably go everyday.

My all time favorite is Cabby Shack in Plymouth, MA. It's a hike from Boston, but the Big Shack roll is ridiculously large and absolutely delicious. Take it or leave it on the rest of the menu though, so it really is a trip just for a gigantic lobster roll.

We have a superb place for lobster rolls in Encinitas, CA, of all places. It's called Lobster West. It's as good as any lobster roll we've had in Maine and New Hampshire, and we've had plenty there.

A lobster roll, bag of potato chips, and small container of cole slaw costs roughly $16 (from memory). You can buy the lobster roll hot or cold, depending on the style you prefer. You can also buy ala carte. The price then drops a couple dollars. I insist that my husband and I each buy our own. It's too good and not big enough to share in my opinion. You can see a picture of the roll on their facebook page.
The restaurant is in the Lumberyard in Encinitas on Hwy 101. It's a tiny place, and has both inside and outside seating.

Anyone ever in london must go to http://www.burgerandlobster.com fantastic. Choice between a whole lobster ( steamed or grilled with garlic/lemon butter), lobster roll, or a burger. All come with fries and a side salad, and all priced at 20. All 3 items are superb. http://londoneater.com/2011/12/23/bu...ter-cocktails/
While in LAS I tried Lobster Me, ended up with my first ever cold lobster roll which I thought was pretty nasty! It's only now reading their site that I see they warm it on request. I might have to go back and try the Cajun lobster roll now I know that....

For me, warm is just so much more luxurious
