The best deal in the store? The Loganberry preserves when they are priced at $3.00 (a couple of years back, when the store North of Austin opened).

This Friday through Sunday, March 5 - March 7, 2010, Ikea will feature the 10-meatball dinner (with mashed and sauce) for $1.00.

That's responsive to the needs of Ikea customers!

It will not happen here; the best they will offer is 50c icecreams or $1.50 half-price desserts. The latter is a stunner. ^

It was better than the whole rest of my trip there, though that's not saying much. :(

Bought a jar of fake fish eggs... I wouldn't recommend it.

I was in Moscow, Russia a few weeks ago and stopped at the store on the south side of the city. The food there is identical to the US, apart from the soup being borscht. Same meatballs, salmon, cakes, etc.

I love me some borscht, but I can't say that share the sentiment about Ikeas food.

I'm not much of a chocaholic, but that cake with mousse inside is something else -YUM ^^^^^
I like the meatballs too - just wish they'd have a better salad bar

I was with a friend/former client recently and I offered to take him to lunch. Guess where he wanted to go? It turns out that we both love going to the Ikea near Newark airport and watching the planes take off and land while we eat! :-::-::-::-::-:

The back of my new Ikea catalog says that the price of the meatball plate (gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce) just went down $1 in price...to $3.99. ^

I ate in Ikea today, had the 10 meatball lunch, it was ok, bit cold by the time I got to the table.

What I am excited about, and bought my tickets today for, is the Ikea crayfish party, happening next week in the Yorkshire store.

like the meatballs and crayfish salad...but their hotdogs are gross

I've only eaten there one time (supper) and had the meatballs while Mrs B. had the salmon. It wasn't gourmet but it was better than most fast food. I think I'll try the breakfast tomorrow.

I have indeed had a chance to eat at IKEA in CA while girlfriend's parents were shopping there and it was OK...

speaking of IKEA, I am excited to see the new IKEA store in Centennial, CO in 2011^

No more lingonberry soda!!!

I was in the Stoughton (Boston) IKEA yesterday, and there was a sign posted that they were no longer serving the lingonberry soda at the fountains! This is basically the only soda I ever drink (without rum in it). Outrage!

At "international" stores I find all of the groceries to be good deals compared to getting them at specialized foreign markets. When I lived in Shanghai it's where I got all of my gravlax and cookies, easily half the price compared to a supermarket

Both the store near PHL and the MCO locations have had good food with great and friendly service.

Mrs. Swede (along with about 30 other Swedish mothers) were invited to the groundbreaking ceremony a few months ago. :)
