I only drink diet as far as cola goes, and Diet Coke is FAR preferred. Diet Pepsi gives me heartburn, big time!

These days I drink Diet Sprite but I actually do prefer regular. I only have it when there is no diet anything, though.

Coke always. I was in the place in New Bern, NC in which Pepsi originated. I drank iced tea.

You obviously haven't traveled extensively in the US. No one in the Upper Midwest uses the term "soda" to refer to a soft drink. Minnesotans uniformly use the term "pop" and are likely to give you club soda if you ask for a soda. On the other hand, MOST people on the East Coast are unfamiliar with the term "pop." The dividing line in the Midwest between "soda" and "pop" is around Indianapolis, north of which "pop" is used and south of which "soda" is used, but I am sure someone will find an exception.

You should try round my neck of the woods, where it's all referred to as 'ginger', whatever flavour it is (occasionally 'scoosh' as well)...

Diet drinks only for me - Diet Coke over Diet Pepsi for the 'regular' (caffeinated) version, but Caffiene-Free Diet Pepsi over C/F Diet Coke. Beyond the colas, Diet 7-up over any of the above (Sierra Mist Free, served on AA flights, is not too bad).

Around here, everything is referred to as 'coke'.

"Would anyone like a coke?"
"Sure, what kind do ya got?"
"Dr. Pepper, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew..."

diet pepsi used to be a winner for taste, but now everyone has a splenda version.

every product with splenda ive had tastes almost exactly like the real thing.

also it seems to me pepsi is much sweeter, while coke feels like it has a fuller body.

I was a Coke fiend. Classic of course.

Couldn't get enough.

Oddly enough, moving to Asia. Stoppng drinking as much pop "soda" and I have lost 20 lbs in two years.

It is not proof that there is a link but I feel better now anyway. Coke always to satisfy a craving.

I started drinking non diet Sprite in Mexico because all they had was Coke Light instead of diet, and it did taste different. Yuck!

Soda is a treat for me, and given a choice between Pepsi and CocaCola, I'll choose Coke. Classic. No vanilla/cherry/kumquat flavoring. No diet. I cannot stand the aftertaste of the diet stuff.

I have heard Pepsi tends to win taste tests because it is slightly sweeter and people seem to prefer that in an initial tasting.

If I have to choose

between those two, Coke. But I really prefer the cola flavor of Blue Sky's cola.

Diet coke, for sure. Cant stand the taste of diet Pepsi, except for maybe the diet Pepsi with lemon, which I haven't seen in a while. Non diet, I still prefer Coke, while Mr. Pickinp perfers Pepsi.
