Pale ale is good as is a nice, ice cold Sapporo beer during the hot and steamy Japanese summer months. This topic got me drooling for some of the local Vermont pale ales I enjoyed while living in Vermont, as well as Sam Adams pale ale. This post got me thinking about my upcoming one month visit home to the Boston area this summer. I can't wait to have a nice, ice cold beer AND some hard cider to go along with the many bbq's I have planned. Woodchuck (any flavor), Cider Jack, and a couple of other imported brands are my favorites. Anybody else enjoy hard cider?

The best beers in the world have to be Belgian and my favorite is Duvel.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a good choice for second.

Must say that if you have not tried any Polish beer you should. Went to Krakow last year and absolutely loved the stuff. The main ones are Tyskie, Zywiec, Lech and Okocim and they are all about 5.6%.

Fortunately, Polish beer is readily available in the UK so it's easy to get hold of whilst doing the weekly shopping.

Got back from Scotland where I had a very tasty beer called Gunn & Innis (no, not Guinness). Aged in oak and had a certain scotch look to it. Haven't yet found it in Vancouver but it has to be around somewhere since they obviously ship to Canada as the bottle said "return for deposit in Canada"

My favourite beer is the one I haven't tried yet

I love trying new beers, especially local microbrews. I'll always take cask over tap, tap over bottle. Ambers are always at the top of my list! And anything with a nice balance of hops.

Am trying a Stone Imperial Russian Stout, and like most Stone brews I have tried, it's a winner, and will be added to my favs list.
