The coffee is pretty good, but the sandwich? I haven't tried one, but they look awful. Maybe I should attempt one...

The ice coffee is great. Much better than Dunkin. Actually got me to go back to McDonalds after a long layoff. Still don't have the nerve to try a Quarter Pounder with cheese.

Starbucks

Have tried their coffee here in the UK and also in the US.

It;s average at best. Try a latte and it' tastes of hot milk. It's sad you have to pay for extra shots to make the milk taste of coffee.

Caffé Nero on the other hand sell coffee that actually tastes of coffee and advises customers they can ask for a weak coffee if they prefer. Seems a much more sensibel way around to me.

I'd reccomend they go to Starbucks if they dont want coffee to taste of coffee though.

Do you know McDonalds is not good at all

Hi all,

Do you know McDonalds is not good for us at all. Because it was too much fat with hamburger and french fries. That's why I am never go back to eat at McDonalds for quite of long time. Don't you mentioned know information from McDonalds? What about breakfast but, it's okay for me that I will ate with steak cheese & bagel. Sometimes that I will eat at the McDonalds another state but, in Arizona does not have it at all. Why you don't figure out more information from McDonalds for me.

Instead, I will go to eat at In & Out Burger but, its absolutely wonderful where we want go there. Also, we have very good place to go. It is Islands Restaurant where we went there for lunch near PV Mall. Its much more convenient for me. So if you try to give me more information for which good restaurant or fast-food. Thanks, Guys! :)

N830MH, I hate to say it, but this is very, very old news. I haven't been in a McDonalds in about 20 years, except for coffee.

McDonalds is as American as Mom and apple pie. I love their McRib when they have it and the Chicken nuggets I've loved since I was a kid.

It is a superpower in itself with locations all over the world.

Well, they have made some progress with some of their salads, and even their plain hamburgers aren't too bad nutritionally. Of course if you order Big Macs or chicken strips and super-sized fries and such, it's a different story.

I hate hamburgers, but curiously enough McDonald's cheeseburgers are one of the few things that sit well if I have a migraine and queasy stomach. Go figure.

You can actually do far worse with some of the chain restaurants than McDonald's.

For example, burgers at Ruby Tuesday's run from 800-1382 calories. McDonald's Big Macs are 540 calories, "only" 250 calories for a regular McD's burger.

Other massive calorie dishes at Ruby Tuesday's:
Chicken & Broccoli Pasta - 1013
Italian Shrimp Pasta - 1246
Parmesan Chicken Pasta - 1302
Strawberries & Ice Cream - 914 cals
Signature House Salad - 438 cals (WITHOUT dressing!). You're better off eating McDonald's hamburgers @ 250 cals a piece.

I'm only using Ruby Tuesday #'s because it's what I have available, but rest assured that just about every chain restaurant out there's like this. Want healthy? Eat at a local restaurant or cook it yourself.

So is McDonald's healthy? Not really. BUT there are many healthy-appearing options which are actually far worse for you.

As with everything in life, moderation is key.

Exactly.

Most of the "Islands" burgers have between 900-1200 calories.

Also, McD hasn't had a "SuperSize" in at least four years. Morgan Spurlock pretty much doomed that.

You're right, of course--they eliminated that in 2004 and now offer fries in small, regular, and large at 230, 380, and 500 calories respectively. Supersize drinks returned in 2007, though I don't know if they're still available or not.

Likewise, I don't think I've eaten anything there for decades.

The thing I hate most about McDonalds, Burger King and the like is that people seem to feel free to stink out train carriages by bringing their vile-smelling takeaway on board with them.

Could we have hot-food-free carriages as well as phone-and-music-free carriages, please?

McDonald's may be as American as processed, hydrogenated, made-from-concentrated apple parts pie, but it doesn't make it good. I don't know what is in a "McRib," but do let me know what part of a chicken is a "nugget."

Much to the embarrassment of many Americans.

Oh, boy. Okay, repeat after me:

"'Chain restaurant' is an oxymoron."
"'Chain restaurant' is an oxymoron."
"'Chain restaurant' is an oxymoron."
