Acceptable frozen pizzas?

Here in Madison, WI there have to be at least 10 different brands of frozen pizza to choose from, most with at least two crust choices, and all with a variety of topping choices. You can often find at least one brand on sale for 5 or 6 for $10.
Personally, DiGiorno is at the bottom of my list; too much crust, not enough toppings.
My fav, probably a rising crust version of Jack's or Red Baron (half the crust of a DiGiorno).

I like Amy's organic pizza - it has fresh toppings and doesn't taste frozen. I find it at Whole Foods and also the organic/health food section of my local supermarket. There's also another organic one that is tasty with roasted vegetables and chipotle sausage - the brand name is Fontera or something like that.

The only one I will still buy is the CA Pizza Kitchen range, particularly the Garlic Chicken - looks like that's a popular one!
If I want cheapo snacks then I'll also thumbs up Totinos, but never ever as a meal replacement!

I wish I could access the SF Chronicle's (or maybe the Examiners?) archives.
About five or six years ago, when I was pulling a copydesk shift for my paper's food section, I read a wire review of the best frozen pizzas available in nationalwide grocery stores.
Believe it or not, Safeway Select came on top or second from the top. I was a bit surprised, but when I later compared SS side-by-side with DiGiorno and Freschetta (the two I would even stoop to buying in desperation), I had to admit it was really tastier.
Agreed that the Trader Joe's is pretty darn good. Still, nothing beats a pie straight from a wood- or coal-fired brick oven.

Although I've sworn off frozen pizza, I gotta say, I have fond memories of being 10 and eating Joe Corbi's.. That stuff stays good in the freezer forever..
I also can't believe no one has mentioned Mama's Pizza? Mama who?
