TNT Pizza in Sycamore, Ohio. Try a small with cheese and pepperoni. OK, if that is too out of the way for you, I also like Papa John's.

in San Diego.
if you find yourself in San Diego, check out Napoleone's in National City. It's owned by two bothers, has been there forever, and makes some delicious, simple thin crust pies.

Frank Pepe's Pizza, New Haven, CT
Nino's Pizza, Cranston, RI Mezza Luna Pizza, North Smithfield, RI (great lobster and mushroom) |
My favorite is Pepe's in Fairfield

Donatos in Columbus, Ohio (also opened a new one in Maumee, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo). LOVE their thin crust pizzas with aged Provolone cheese *yummy*

Not many people know or remember that this chain was owned by McDonald’s for several years.
What a waste. I have never tried their pizza, nor had any desire to try it. |

Pizzeria Regina, Boston North End, not the sometimes inconsistent location at Faneuil Hall. For me, this is the pizza by which all others are judged.
It can be a little on the oily side, but sooooo good. |

The Best Pizza I have come across anywhere. Some of my friends do complain about how oily it can be, but I too judge all other Pizza by Pizzeria Regina in Boston's North End. ^
For that matter, those who rave about the Italian food in Boston's north end are delusional. I have been to several of the reputed "best" on expense accounts, and good god were they disappointing. Of course in a city that is clueless when it comes to food, none of this should be surprising. Of course don't even get me started on Chicago, those heretics should burn. There really isn't proper pizza in this country outside of NYC. I went to a place in Portland Oregon that had good stuff (now THATS a food town) and there is some place in Texas that is reputed to be good. However the average NYC slice is better then the best every other major city has to offer. Too often people inappropriately call something "pizza" when it reality it is really flat-bread. |

Here is a simple criteria for people to use. If you like Papa John's, Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Californa Pizza Kitchen, or any other chain, you have no idea what pizza is. I mean wow, that stuff is crap.

I recall Tomasso's in San Francisco being pretty good.
I've had pizza at somewhere called Big Johns (I think that is correct) in NYC, although I sure wouldn't mind eating my way around NYC to find the best pizza. Ahhhhh...heaven. Houston is big on the chains. (I think most people here don't know what truly good pizza is) although decent pizza can be found if you try hard enough. |
Angies Pizza
Family owned, original sauces, very, very good. My daughter loves the stromboli's. Mentor on the Lake, OH. Around the corner from me. I have been a customer there for the past year.
Painesville OH, Carluccis Pizza...also very good. |
