Maybe it's just the one in my neighborhood, but I'd say there's plenty of attitude at Dunkin' Dunno, and not too different from that of the McD's just down the road

So Cramer's advice is all wet, you say.

The problem with this entire debate, IMHO, is that in many cases it's apples to oranges. I drink regular coffee at DD, and I only get mixed espresso drinks (lattes, fraps, etc.) at Starbucks.

So...

Starbucks espresso drinks beat DD
DD's basic coffee tops Starbucks

I just drink regular coffee, and I agree that DD's is better.

I never yearn for Starbucks (mind you there is one almost everywhere I travel) but I always have cravings for my Tim Horton's coffee.

Vote me for Tim Horton's anyday.

Dunkin' Donuts just has an image problem. And Starbucks is all image.

Does anybody remember the local Boston coffee chain that was competing with DD until overnight SB took over the city?

A friend of my brother is a marketing manager for Tim's, and apparently the reason you can't reproduce the taste of Tim's at home even with Tim's ground coffee or a Tim's coffeemaker is the WATER TEMP. The brewers they use in the shops are extremely hot. That makes for the taste. The other thing my Dad always told me was that they have always flavored their coffee with chickory- that's what that lovely smell is when you walk in......
