NYC Lunch Restaurant Advice
Dear fellow FT'ers,
The 'other half' and I are going to NYC for a few days and I wanted to treat her for a lovely lunch as it's her birthday (dinner plans already made by the missus as her b'day happens to fall on Valentines day...)
Any advice for lovely NYC lunch places (price should be less than a couple hundred of bucks (including moderate wine) if possible...) - I would be gratefully appreciated. Someone recommended that Fleur de Sel has a wonderful wine paired lunch menu...
Kind Regards,
stinky

Le Bernadin serves a $51 Prix Fixe lunch:

A couple of other suggestions:
The Modern (in the newly-expanded Museum of Modern Art)
Nougatine (the cafe attached to Jean Georges)

I'm having lunch in the main dining room at Jean George on friday, I will let you know how it was if youre considering that place. I think they have more romantic seating along the south? side, ask when you make your reservation. Oh, if it were my date I would take a Cab over to Dylan's on the east side for some after lunch deserts(It IS her birthday) then window shop your way up madison to the Met.

Booked at Jean Georges for lunch in their Formal Dining Room - would appreciate if you could let me know how it went...
Dylan's sounds great but we'll be going straight to JFK after what I hope will be a phenomenal birthday lunch!

Make sure to check out this site before eating at any restaurant in the city, it is the health reports, and let me tell you they are not so pretty.
Enjoy the greatest city on this planet.

I wouldn't go anywhere except for Peter Luger Steakhouse at 178 Broadway in Brooklyn.

I second Le Bernadin, esp the fixed price lunch.
If you do want the ultimate steak, Luger's is it but if you go there bear in mind
1) Not a neighborhood for strolling
2) as posted above - bring CASH! and plenty of it
