New Year's Eve Dinner In The NYC And New Jersey Area

I'm looking for a really nice restaurant for New Year's Eve. Since I live so close to Manhattan, that is a possibility. Does anyone have any suggestions.

After thinking about it, Manhattan is too far to go without reserving a hotel room. New Jersey is the only area then.

It all depends what you are looking for. Good food, party atmosphere or just dinner. Good Steak -- Do Mortons in Hackensack. Good Seafood -- Do Chart House in Fort Lee. See what the Inn in Basking Ridge has going this year.

Near Peapack....

What about some of the restaurants in Bernardsville like The Bernards Inn and Le Petit Chateau. Both of them are lovely.

Definitely not a party atmosphere. I want something elegant and gourmet. Is it really a bad idea to take the train to NYC just to have dinner and then turn around and go back?

Elegant and gourmet is what I recommended in Bernardsville. Drive down 202 over to Bernarsdville to see for yourself.
