Most meals served annually & wine imports
Was watching a local Chicago show called Check Please (post on Check Please here: http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...ML/000182.html ) and they have these snippets of trivia/info between restaurant reviews.
Two of the info snippets stated the following:
The countries that the US imports most of its wine from:
#1. Italy (by a wide margin)
#2. Australia
#3. France
It surprised me that Italy had a wide margin (although wide margin was not defined).
Also the US restaurants (independent) that serve the most meals annually are:
Varsity in Atlanta 1,961,165 meals served
Zehnders in Frankenmuth, MI 959,650
Canters Deli in LA 900,000
Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus, MA 858,445
Bob Chinns Crabhouse in Wheeling, IL 843,500
There is a thread on Chinns here: http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...ML/000054.html
Anyone been to any of the others?

Been to Canter's in LA about 10 years ago.
As a New Yorker I was intrigued by a deli in LA. It's typical NY style. But since it was so long ago, who can remember the details!
