Most meals served annually & wine imports
 

Was watching a local Chicago show called Check Please (post on Check Please here: http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...ML/000182.html ) and they have these snippets of trivia/info between restaurant reviews.

Two of the info snippets stated the following:

The countries that the US imports most of its wine from:

#1. Italy (by a wide margin)
#2. Australia
#3. France

It surprised me that Italy had a wide margin (although wide margin was not defined).

Also the US restaurants (independent) that serve the most meals annually are:

Varsity in Atlanta – 1,961,165 meals served
Zehnders in Frankenmuth, MI – 959,650
Canter’s Deli in LA – 900,000
Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus, MA – 858,445
Bob Chinn’s Crabhouse in Wheeling, IL – 843,500

Been to Canter's in LA about 10 years ago.
