Any chance you buy the Wagyu short rib at Costco for $14.99/lb else which short ribs do you buy? I love short ribs as a stew. I love them with Korean bbq and can’t actually taste a difference between short ribs and steak on the grill. One day I want to buy and grill short ribs at home so I can’t decide between the Costco choices of Wagyu boneless ($14.99) or choice boned short ribs ($7.99?). kukje korean supermarket is like $20.99/lb for short ribs, I think. |

Short ribs are probably one of the easiest cuts to cook at home, they can be grilled, pan seared, cooked in stew, curries and they always turn out great with lots of flavour. |
Whatever I prepare for dinner tonight will beat what I had last night.
Excellent day fishing, I provided my neighbor with fresh yellowfin tuna caught earlier in the day.. He is happy to receive it, and invites Mrs. PhillyGold and I over for dinner.. We arrive, and he and his wife serve wine. All is good. I ask him how is he preparing the tuna? He says no problem, it’s on the grill now! (By this point we had been there for 20 minutes). I said….ummmm you may want to check that tuna. Ruined. Gray and dry. Yuck. Lesson learned! |

Nothing interesting as far as markdowns or sales go on Thursday so had to resort to the freezer.
tonight was: previously-frozen bratwurst from a local supermarket first sautéed han deep fried previously-frozen "premium" (AAA/"Prime") ground beef made into hamburgers topped with processed cheese and vegetal accompaniments (garden-picked cherry tomatoes, romaine lettuce and onions from the mini farm 2 door down, and avocado maduros (really ripe, as in black skin) deep-fried plantain with a sprinkle of coarse salt Austrian cucumber salad with freshly-picked cucumbers |

Sorry, I have had a busy week and just now posting.
My mom's 75th birthday was last Tuesday, but I was working, so we agreed to go out to dinner on Thursday night. There is a local sports bar that has a special on Maine Lobsters, 2 (1 1/2 lbs. or higher) for $39.95. This is what she wanted, so my mom, wife, and I went there as she has been craving it since the beginning of the pandemic last year. I usually can eat two or more (when we would go to an AYCE place), but could only eat one and the tail of the other. My wife who eats like a bird will just eat the claws, the tail, and some of the body so I usually will clean up what she doesn't. We ended up taking home 1 1/2 lobsters that we ended having last night for dinner. Tasted just as good cold as it was when it was steaming hot when served. |
