I will take a ride out to Crate and Barrel this weekend. Cot Plus is there, but last I checked they didn't have much. But the only one around here usually has junk anyways.

All at Daiso.
It is like a Japanese dollar store.

But it also made me think that some Asian markets carry houseware type stuff and they might be worth checking too.

Also to highlight on your photos (thanks for grabbing those), most of the smaller dishes/plates are $1.50 a piece and larger ones may be either $3.00 or $4.00 each. So harkening back to Cloudship 's desire to keep things cheaper in price, depending on how many place settings you need/want, getting away with ~$10/set seems quite reasonable.

You can see those prices here: Plates – DAISO (daisous.com); Other Ceramics – DAISO (daisous.com)' Bowls – DAISO (daisous.com)

For at least Daiso, it looks like NYC has a few but that's still not NE.

Not sure a plate is worth an overnight trip.

Alessi (DL's supplier) sells things similar to what they sell on board although they are pricey.

Another option is Duralex dishes: https://www.duralexusa.com/collectio...owls-with-lids

They are very durable and they have lots of different styles (available on Amazon and direct from the store). We use the smaller rectangles/squares to prepare small servings of food for our son so we can offer a few different things in small portions.

Probably not just one plate. But, since this is FlyerTalk, options abound for other reasons to travel to exotic destinations such as Brooklyn/Queens or even Scarsdale...or perhaps dreary Torrance/Gardena.
