Airline Style Plates

Does anyone know of a place in the Us where I could buy a couple of the airline style rectangular small plates and dishes? I would have thought they would be easier to find, but they are not.

What exactly do you mean by airline style? With separate compartments for each portion of food? (If so, search for plates with compartments.) Or simply plates that have a raised edge on them?

If you could manage to talk with the right person at one of the airport catering companies, they could probably sell you some....

I saw those - but they are considerably bigger. The thing is I remember you used to see them all over the place back when Linen's and Things were around. I checked my not quite so local Bed Bath and Beyond, and they didn't have any. then again they are not very well stocked, either.

Have you tried the monthly Surplus Sale at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta?

I have personally seen just about anything — including lavatories and seats — for sale...

...as well as plates and cutlery that were actually used during in-flight service over the years.

Have you looked at Cost Plus World Market?

Check out Pampered Chef. The size you're looking for might be considered a serving piece for condiments and the like.

We regularly attend potluck dinners where we are expected to bring plates, utensils and glasses. I looked at what other people had and ordered these from Amazon. I think they are smaller than what others use but hold plenty for us. I think the set of 4 was around $14.

I wasn't looking so much for compartmentalized trays as I was for just the small dishes that they use for domestic first class meals. Simple square or rectangle, with a little bit of depth but not enough to be a bowl. I would have thought they would be easy to find but they are not. All I have seen are some large packs on Amazon, when all I need is one or two dishes.

Another option are asian markets such as Daiso where they sell all types of small dishware to their clientele.
