Airline Style Plates
Does anyone know of a place in the Us where I could buy a couple of the airline style rectangular small plates and dishes? I would have thought they would be easier to find, but they are not.

If you could manage to talk with the right person at one of the airport catering companies, they could probably sell you some....

Have you tried the monthly Surplus Sale at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta?
https://www.deltamuseum.org/events/e...r/surplus-sale I have personally seen just about anything — including lavatories and seats — for sale... ...as well as plates and cutlery that were actually used during in-flight service over the years. |
Have you looked at Cost Plus World Market?

I saw those - but they are considerably bigger. The thing is I remember you used to see them all over the place back when Linen's and Things were around. I checked my not quite so local Bed Bath and Beyond, and they didn't have any. then again they are not very well stocked, either.

We regularly attend potluck dinners where we are expected to bring plates, utensils and glasses. I looked at what other people had and ordered these from Amazon. I think they are smaller than what others use but hold plenty for us. I think the set of 4 was around $14.

I wasn't looking so much for compartmentalized trays as I was for just the small dishes that they use for domestic first class meals. Simple square or rectangle, with a little bit of depth but not enough to be a bowl. I would have thought they would be easy to find but they are not. All I have seen are some large packs on Amazon, when all I need is one or two dishes.

I will take a ride out to Crate and Barrel this weekend. Cot Plus is there, but last I checked they didn't have much. But the only one around here usually has junk anyways.

Where are those from?
It is like a Japanese dollar store. https://daisous.com/ But it also made me think that some Asian markets carry houseware type stuff and they might be worth checking too. |

Not sure a plate is worth an overnight trip.

Alessi (DL's supplier) sells things similar to what they sell on board although they are pricey.
Another option is Duralex dishes: https://www.duralexusa.com/collectio...owls-with-lids They are very durable and they have lots of different styles (available on Amazon and direct from the store). We use the smaller rectangles/squares to prepare small servings of food for our son so we can offer a few different things in small portions. |
