[QUOTE=kipper;34903068]I routinely pay $25-$30 for a 12 or 16 oz. bottle of barrel-aged stouts.[/QUOTE,
Whew! Lucky for me, I don't like stouts, barrel aged or not.

does this mean that you drink the full 12/16-Oz bottle at a time? I’m in sticker shock.
is there a good link I should find to explain what makes these barrel-aged stouts worth this price? or you can tell me which might bore you.
I probably have paid $10-ish maximum AT A BAR / restaurant for draft beer. This is just way above my head. Like, part of me thinks that you’re pulling my leg and just joshing yet I also can imagine that you’re serious. Once you add that you only pay this price when wearing ankle socks without shoes, then maybe I’ll know you’re kidding.

I can drink one, but I usually save them for bottle shares so others can try as well. Barrel-aged beers cost more because of the time it takes to brew a barrel-aged beer (longer than a "normal" beer), ingredients, the fact that they can't add water to starch the grain to extract the sugars, the cost of barrels (they buy them but not all can be used, and of the usable ones, some are one use and done), the cost of labor in the brewing process for them (more labor-intensive because of debarreling and cleaning), and storage space of barrels, both when filled and when empty.

Last night: I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO SNOW DAYS Double IPA from Evil Twin

Enjoyed by myself and some colleagues at Clinton Hall. This was by far the most popular in our group.

Didn’t turn on the light when I walked to my beer fridge in the garage and grabbed a Fat Tire Amber Ale. Nothing special, but a decent one.

Finback Brewing "I See You" DIPA
I liked it enough at the brewery last weekend to get a 4-pack. Now, it's a little sweet for my tastes. It is made with cantaloupe.
Finback is my nearest brewery and this was my first time there.
