No, except close to the main center of town, IMO. We are staying too far away & up in the hills. It would be so much nicer if we could walk to stores & restaurants.

This is something we learned many years ago, and still occasionally fail on... It's worth it to pay more, even way more, to be in walking distance to the main center of town. I can think of several trips that were all but ruined for us by not doing this. We study google maps extensively now. Portugal is on our bucket list BTW.
Uber was cheap going in to town but took time & we got scammed in a taxi going back to hotel. And Porto is very walkable (if you like hills lol). Lisbon was more spread out. |
Back to Rifados - the pastor really is good, and I should learn to only get the pastor

EE would have sent it back. It had such potential as the sauce was good but it really should have stayed in the oven longer. |

Saturday Seder (pessach night 1):
matzo ball soup parsley salad with freshly grated horseradish dips (Oren’s hummus) raw veggies matzah charoset - apples charoset - Sephardic citrus brisket (Costco) - prepped & cooked on Friday, making me late by 30-60 minutes for my gathering with BamaVol desserts this was the first time we hosted a Seder. I’m extremely pleased with everything - later last night, I learned that my baby’s basketball match was at 9:25a in Oakland. I got to bed at 2a after much cleanup and I was up at 7a to get us to the gym by 9a. Hello all,
I remember I was in Vegas by last month. I ordered a pizza from Napoli Pizza & Restaurant in Las Vegas. I bought a huge pizza for my sister and her boyfriend, too. I shared it to them. I saved it for me to take it back home to Phoenix. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...87b887991.jpeg |

First Salad Nicoise of the season. Highly recommend now that the temperatures are rising, you can prepare some or all in advance and prep for more than 1 day (I usually make two days worth at a time) so its easy to add it to your regular meal rotation through September. Its simple but delicious and reasonably healthy. Typically I pair it with Bourgogne or another Pinot Noir, but the Bourgognes I have on hand are better suited for more than a salad but fortunately ample Rose Champagne on hand, which is not a shabby substitute. The tuna used was the jarred Tonnino Yellowfin filets which is excellent for this dish.

Chipotle's BOGO offer returned for those wearing an NHL jersey. I stopped by this evening for dinner and was thrilled to see so many folks with jersey's on (though not enough with Avs jersey's... :) )
Picked up a half steak/chicken bowl with white rice, veggies, sour cream, cheese, guac and lettuce. Second bowl was the same, though with their new honey chicken. https://photos.smugmug.com/FlyerTalk...IMG_1282-L.jpg |
