Dinner was salmon poached in blood orange juice. It was the most unappetizing thing I have ever seen or made. The juice made the salmon turn a disgustingly putrid shade of grayish purple. Absolutely gross. Rice and broccolini were fine but I couldn't get past that nasty looking salmon. And it was dry so I must have overcooked it. I gotta stick with the grill from now on.

They didn't impress me much either, nor did the sausage. Edible, but wouldn't buy again. I have yet to try "Impossible Burger". I hear it is better.

More comfort food: sloppy joes, broccoli and corn on the cob. First time I’ve used fresh garlic (from my garden) in my cooking. I can still taste it this morning. The corn was just okay: small ears and not a whole lot of flavor. But it’s nice to see it on the vegetable cart that comes here every Wednesday. Also bought the first Plant City strawberries of the year and they are wonderful.

Somebody needs a lesson on the concept of melting....both cheese and butter. :p
Is corn from your garden? Seems early!

Its not real cheese so it doesn’t really melt. Also not real butter and it was just applied. It did melt eventually.

We have a vegetable cart that parks by the clubhouse for 4 hours every Wednesday. They supplied the corn. It takes too much room to grow in my 20x20 patch. There’s good corn available locally. But this is pushing the season.

I picked up seeds for my spring garden this afternoon. I will attempt 2 types of green beans and make a three bean salad (adding canned kidney beans). I am also attempting cantaloupe for the first time. I will need to water faithfully. Radishes and I forget what else. I will plant tomato and pepper plants as it’s too late to start from seed.

My father in law buys these pork tenderloins on BOGO and brings them to my house for me to cook them for us. I fill them with minced garlic and fresh rosemary and roast. The veggies were butternut squash and Granny Smith apples seasoned with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon. I bought very skinny asparagus so just cut and steamed.

“It’s Vegan” margarine and “Follow Your Heart” vegan cheese made from coconut oil and potato/corn starch. No lactose in either. Neither melts particularly well.

aww...thank you. Although super tasty, the short ribs would have been better with a longer and lower precooking to totally break them down more.

BBQ pork sliders and fries - Ali’s Wood Fired Pizza Clermont, FL

Excellent pickles.

Mrs BV had their vegetarian Stromboli, which I don’t think is correct. It’s probably a vegetarian calzone. Half the vegetables are garlic cloves. Halitosis wrapped in pizza dough.

I had a pint of coffee Porter followed by a pint of an IPA from Suncreek Brewery which shares the building with Ali’s.

yours doesn't look like enough olive relish ooozing out...to me that offsets the dense meat.
