What candy is everyone else giving out?
Because of the prevalence of allergies about a decade ago I started giving out non-candy items as well as candy, so kids can choose. I get a jumbo pack of decorated pencils, spider rings, little rubber bats/ghosts/goblins (either Target or a party goods store) and let kids choose, candy or other. Probably half the kids choose the toy/pencil option.
