Any Dishes You'll Automatically Order if They're on a Menu?
For me, if I see pork belly or lamb on a menu, I will almost always order them. Ditto duck. And at a breakfast joint, if there's Eggs Benedict that's what I'm going to eat.
Anyone else have an automatic dish like this? |
Bread pudding
Cobbler Greek salad |
If Cajun, I will always order the shrimp and grits if it's on the menu.

Almost any fish from the gulf of Mexico - snapper, grouper, mahi, amberjack, flounder, pompano.
Almost any local shellfish - clams, mussels, crab claws, shrimp. On the west coast - sand dabs. |
I'm going to go with eggs Benedict for breakfast too. Haven't had any in ages.
Shrimp or lobster or clams for dinner but not if there is any kind of tomato sauce involved. Tomatoes with shellfish is just wrong. But my absolute favorite would be New England clam chowder and fried whole clams or soft-shelled crabs. (Can you tell I'm originally from New England?) Dessert - creme brulee (but not after eating fried clams) |
Soft-shelled crab for me too

If I am eating at a Mexican place, I always check to see if they have mole sauce and order that. I love a good mole sauce.
