On occasion:
What was that first step again?
- When travelling on holidays, the holiday starts at the airport
- On Sundays, a bloody Mary or a pint (depending on how late I roll out of bed)
- If the day looks especially bad, a shot to calm the nerves.
What was that first step again?

One of my holiday time student jobs was at a very smart wine merchants in London. It still sold Champagne in pint bottles - apparently this was very common in the earlier part of the 20th Century but, by the time I was there in the 70s, it was down to just Bollinger (IIRC) who bottled in this way.
The legend went that a husband and wife found a bottle too much for breakfast and a half bottle too little. A pint was perfect!

A couple times a year. Champagne, mimosa or bloody mary are all acceptable. I couldn't get used to a beer with breakfast although on vacation I seldom wait until noon.
A couple years ago, I spotted a sign at a Pensacola restaurant advertising "bottomless champagne". Imagine my disappointment when I discovered they were just referring to the glass. They paid for it in champagne, I tell you! I bet we sat there getting refilled every 15 minutes for 3 hours.

But now for something completely different, my half-empty glass of Taittinger need some help before getting refilled
