Won't offer tap water??

My experience in Spain is that you can just ask for "agua del grifo" and there's no problem. The Spanish waitstaff may think you're weird, but I've never been charged for tap water anywhere there.

The tap water in Spain is perfectly safe to drink and has been for decades (if in fact it ever wasn't), but the local custom is much more to drink bottled water.

I drank the tap water in the 2 years we lived in Germany, I'm no dumber now than I was 2 years ago... SQUIRREL! Wait what was I talking about?
