Pie, pie, pie, pie, pie.

It started with our Pi(e) Day party at work yesterday. We had a pie competition (I was a judge) with 14 pies, plus extra pies we bought to have enough.
Then I brought some leftover pie home.
Mrs. Milepig bought a pumpkin pie.
There's a pie by the administrative office nuker.
A couple pies appeared at a meeting this morning.
I just got a message that there are leftover pies in the staff room.

And, I brought left over pizza (pie) for lunch.

Burp.

No, a friend flew down this a.m. with three bags of frozen Italian beef which thawed on the way. Then, 15 of us tailgated with adult beverages while he heated up the beef and sliced the rolls. We had hot and mild giardiniera, potato salad, pasta salad, chips, veggie tray, etc. Tasty stuff.

Sunday will be a food truck at Cubs park - Chuckie's Iowa pork tenderloin sandwiches.

Lunch: massive hamburger at Gulf Coast Burger Company. This one came with pulled pork, coleslaw and barbecue sauce, Tater tots on the side.

Dinner: still full.

Staying with my father-in-law this week. Eating well at dinner. First night we went out and had linguini with baby clams and the three of us split a carafe of the house cab. Came with fresh bread and a green salad. Last night I cooked: NY strip, shrimp cocktail, chopped kale salad with poppyseed dressing, sweet corn. I feel like its early for corn even in Florida but this was excellent.

Breakfast was coffee and blueberry PopTarts

Lunch was a bagel sandwich at a halfway decent attempt at a NY Deli in Fuquay-Varina

Dinner is about to be Indian food

Years ago, I had a plant tour in that town and they told me this joke.

A couple from New York is traveling to Florida and stops for gas and lunch in Fuquay-Varina. He’s intrigued with the name and wants to know how it’s pronounced. Fewkway? Fookway? Vareena? Var-eye-na? So he asks the kid at the cash register. “I’m puzzled about this place. How is the name pronounced?” The kid hesitates and then proudly answers “Bur Gur Kang”.
