Pie, pie, pie, pie, pie.
It started with our Pi(e) Day party at work yesterday. We had a pie competition (I was a judge) with 14 pies, plus extra pies we bought to have enough.
Then I brought some leftover pie home.
Mrs. Milepig bought a pumpkin pie.
There's a pie by the administrative office nuker.
A couple pies appeared at a meeting this morning.
I just got a message that there are leftover pies in the staff room.
And, I brought left over pizza (pie) for lunch.
Burp.

Staying with my father-in-law this week. Eating well at dinner. First night we went out and had linguini with baby clams and the three of us split a carafe of the house cab. Came with fresh bread and a green salad. Last night I cooked: NY strip, shrimp cocktail, chopped kale salad with poppyseed dressing, sweet corn. I feel like its early for corn even in Florida but this was excellent.

A couple from New York is traveling to Florida and stops for gas and lunch in Fuquay-Varina. He’s intrigued with the name and wants to know how it’s pronounced. Fewkway? Fookway? Vareena? Var-eye-na? So he asks the kid at the cash register. “I’m puzzled about this place. How is the name pronounced?” The kid hesitates and then proudly answers “Bur Gur Kang”.
