There's very good achar in the Malaysia / Singapore region. Most of the time served with the coconut rice (nasi lemak). It is amazingly appetizing. A blend of sweet, sour and spiciness.

Much of what you find there are pickles based on recipes from South India. All regions have their own versions of achar.
The western states, mainly Gujrat has a huge variety. It is said that these people live to eat very tasty foods !
Find such products ( among many brands) here

Well Missy, you need to try the Achar made by GOAN Cuisine from Australia.
http://goancuisine.com.au/
In the US, it's only available from Corti Brothers Market, which if you're ever in Sacramento, it is a MUST SEE Gourmet Food Market. Nothing fancy like Williams-Sonoma, this is a family owned market with truly unique food and liquor items discovered by the owner, and shared with the patrons.

I've tried the Pineapple Achar. As sweet as it is tangy/sour/pungent.
