Veuve Clecquot yellow label certainly seems popular. It retails for $32 or so around metro DC. Certainly one of our favorites, but we also sometimes pick up Pommery for sentimental reasons (a bottle was gifted to us on our honeymoon by a lovely UA flight attendant). ^

Washington Post ran an interesting champagne buying guide in their food section this week (free registration required):

Then, if it did affect you that way, I apologize for slipping you that glass of Perrier-Jouet at dinner that night at the Westin in SAN. However, at the time, I did not think that you seemed too much the worse for wear as that dinner wore on, so maybe there is something in some of the other labels that affects you. Cheers and Happy New Year.

Back to the topic:
My neighbor who has invited us over has shown me a bottle of Dom '88 which he is going to open. Therefore, since I am only stocking some NV stuff right now, I will hie me down to my local purveyor to pick up a bottle of either Fleur de Champagne or Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill, two of my other most favorites.

LOL. I forgot about that. Did I drink any of it? I can't remember. If so, maybe I need to stick to Perrier-Jouet from now on. ;)

Hope your New Year is the best!

Dude, you are paying WAY too much for that Champagne -- it sells for $23.99 at my local Trader Joe's.

Billecart Salmon Rose
PJ Grand Brut
Feuillatte NV

Saving the expensive stuff for the wedding... :)

Domaine Carneros La Reve 1995 or so.

Although I really do prefer the Brut Rose a lot.

At my parents at XMAS we had a 95 DOM (gift from someone at his office) that was actually quite good.

That is an excellent choice. I regret not picking up more when I lived near Napa. I did find some regular Domaine Carneros Brut, but it's just not the same.

The Mumm Rose is very nice too, but I think they only sell it at the winery around valentines

Assuming you're talking about the NV, looks like the kosher does go for around $48, and the non-kosher half the price, even in NY.

I love Wine Searcher. :)
