Veuve Clecquot yellow label certainly seems popular. It retails for $32 or so around metro DC. Certainly one of our favorites, but we also sometimes pick up Pommery for sentimental reasons (a bottle was gifted to us on our honeymoon by a lovely UA flight attendant). ^
Washington Post ran an interesting champagne buying guide in their food section this week (free registration required): http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...122700203.html (edited to fix bad grammar!) |

Back to the topic: My neighbor who has invited us over has shown me a bottle of Dom '88 which he is going to open. Therefore, since I am only stocking some NV stuff right now, I will hie me down to my local purveyor to pick up a bottle of either Fleur de Champagne or Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill, two of my other most favorites. |

Domaine Carneros La Reve 1995 or so.
Although I really do prefer the Brut Rose a lot. At my parents at XMAS we had a 95 DOM (gift from someone at his office) that was actually quite good. |
