Favorite Healthy Snacks?
What are peoples' favorite healthy snacks?
Some of mine:
What else?
Some of mine:
- Apple with peanut butter
- Carrots with hummus (I like Tribe Forty Spices of late)
- A couple slices of ham or turkey rolled up with a little mustard (no bread)
What else?

I make my own protein bars. They end up with the same nutritional content as a Clif bar, for example. The base recipe remains the same, but I can add any healthy fillers to make anything I want. My faves are maple banana walnut, carrot ginger and apple or pumpkin pie.

Bresaola beef (low fat and high protein, but has some sodium so you must eat in moderation)
Non-fat greek yogurt sweetened with splenda + diced apple or pomegranate
Hummus with snap peas, broccoli, carrots or grape tomatoes
Wassa crackers with low-fat ricotta and maybe a sprinkle of salt (sometimes I'll blend fresh herbs & ricotta)

- Special K cereal bars
- pre-packaged apple slices (about an apple in each individually sealed bag)--these are great for when I'm on the go.
- grapes
If I'm craving chocolate, and the vanilla Special K bars just don't satisfy the sweet craving, I'll eat 4 or 5 Hershey's Kisses. That's about 100 calories, and usually enough to satisfy the craving for something sweet.
If I'm craving cheese, it's usually just that I'm craving calcium, so I'll often substitute broccoli instead.

There's a "healthy snack" company in the UK called Nākd, which doe a fantastic fruit and cocoa bar - a lovely, bitter chocolate flavour. Always enjoy that.
Otherwise, oatcakes. I could eat them all day. But that wouldn't be healthy.
