I am so sorry that you all are failing to understand the beauty and glory of a proper retsina. I drank a large quantity of it when I lived in Athens and have appreciated it ever since. My spouse will not touch it, but that is her loss too. The historical origins with leaky amphorae and ancient preservation are interesting too. really on a very hot day with a plate of grilled squid and sardines nothing can beat it...except maybe some ouzo to begin.

A glass or three of retsina late afternoon in a taverna on a quiet Greek island with a few olives or nuts and looking out to sea watching the sun set on another scorching Greek summer day.
Brilliant.

As do teenage girls in the UK - 'Martini (brand name for the Vermouth) and lemonade please' - guarenteed to make the bartender wonder if they should check your ID! But teenage drinking habits die hard, and I get nostalgic for a 'Martini and Lemonade' or 'Taboo and Lemonade' even now!
