It's a weird site - I put in different zip codes and get different mixes of restaurants. For example, if I put in a zip code for about the center of Kansas City, I get shown a many options extending 25 miles south but zero options going north, as if the Missouri River is a magic McRib Line.
Then I throw in a zip code that is barely north of the river, and all of those McDonald's show up. So I *think* it's everywhere, but I don't actually care enough to go find out. |
I tried a zip code near me (Jamaica, NY), and I got ZERO results :(

I haven't had one in probably 10 years. The problem I have/had with it is that it's totally drenched in (a not good) BBQ sauce. It makes for a drippy, slippery mess. It would be so much better if there was just a light glaze of BBQ sauce. The raw onions also ruin it.

Thought I’d taunt those who are craving one and can’t get it😂 I pulled in to get my $1 Diet Coke and saw they even have a deal on them. |
This is making me hungry for a rib sandwich. Though I might get one at a local restaurant that serves a similar item (frozen preformed patty) instead of McD's. Then again, it'd be interesting to try McD's once to compare quality.
ETA: I'm curious why this isn't in DiningBuzz. |
No deals for me. The sandwich was $3.79, I think. Large fries and a drink, with tax, took the tab up over $8.00.
I haven't been in a McDonald's this year. The last visit I can recall was on a road trip south probably April 2018 when I pulled off I-75 and Mrs. BV begged for a filet-o-fish. They had just introduced kiosks and there was an employee who walked us through the process in exchange for $1 off. I thought it was overly complicated. I'm not a fan of self check-out and I didn't like this any better. Today it seemed easier to a point, and then I got lost. I backtracked and somehow was able to consummate the purchase. Impressions: I haven't had a McRib since they first came out, probably sometime in the early 80's. At the time, my experience with pork was pretty much limited to my mother's dried out yet mostly fatty pork chops. So, I thought this was an improvement. Today, not so much. Bun - okay. Fresh, sprinkled with sesame seeds that couldn't be tasted. BBQ sauce - way too sweet and had a slimy texture. Pickles - I think they must be the usual burger pickles. Thin, dill, slightly sour - not bad. Onions - fresh without the tang/heat, but not a sweet onion. Possibly the best part of the sandwich. I'm no fan of reconstituted dried onions. You could taste these. Patty - I was caught off guard by the texture. I expected to have to tear off a bite, that it would be more pork-like. It has the consistency of a burger. I also noticed that the colder it got, the less I enjoyed the flavor. I challenge anyone to remove the sauce and eat this patty cold. I'd rather eat bugs. That's probably all the McDonald's I can stand for another year. |

Great, 50 miles from me. Either there is no real site, or I am not getting a McRib :(

Just pounded down two McRibs ... now I need to take a nap !!

Aside from its other nutritional benefits or detriments, what is "whopping" about the McRib having 500 calories? It's one lunch. If I had a McRib for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which I wouldn't, I'd still be 500 calories short of my USDA recommended number of calories for a day.

I drove by my local McDonald's this evening and did not see any signage for the McRib, so I am assuming they don't have it. Perhaps I will check inside tomorrow.
I hope I can find one before they stop selling it. -J. |

The company locator doesn't work for me. Tried three different browsers and it displays nothing. But, I know there's a confirmed location 10 miles away.

My local McDonald's does not have the McRib and the cashier asked me why everyone was asking about it. The manager suggested the BBQ chicken tenders but I passed on it. :(
