Bought this onboard AA Duty Free for $43 USD.
|
It was supposed to hit liqour stores stateside in March. Nowhere I've seen yet.
No internation trips planned, so I have to wait. :( |
Quite interesting. Got my wife to bring me one 2 weeks back on the way back from India . About USD39 in Doha.
The carryon bag is great. The bottle mouth has a weird seal. Had a hard time the 1st time around. |
I saw a 1L bottle for nearly 40 Euros in FRA. JW Green was actually less expensive!
|
Just took a pour from my bottle. Funny thing is this had a built in spout like you'd see at a bar.
First taste was bitter and disappointing. After a couple of seconds, the smokey flavor hit me. ^ Give me a couple of days with this to see where it's going. ;) dh |
JW just announced that Db would go into normal retail distribution as of April 1. I have looked for it but so far it has not appeared. I'm waiting...it have become my new everyday favorite

bought it for 44 singapore dollars at changi airport duty free. its pretty good stuff! nothing like that crappy black label. They should have given it another name. But i still rather green label over this.

Panama City, Panama PTY had is on promotion 2 bottles for $75 US.
|
Yup, guess Diageo decided to release it to In Flight Duty Free as I just bought a bottle on my AC flight where it went to C$40 (US$42). Also saw an ad in the Emirates inflight magazine. At Auckland Airport where I got that really great deal last year, it is going for NZ$66, which is about US$44. Enjoying a glass in my room at the IC Rialto Melbourne after my marathon YYZ-PVG-AKL-MEL journey (albeit all in J/C)! Very nice before a hot shower and walkabout town...

The carryon bag is great. The bottle mouth has a weird seal. Had a hard time the 1st time around. The seal is pretty standard but the bottle does have that "bar pour" spout which means you have to tip it over the glass, inside the tumbler, and then tap the bottle slightly to move the valve ball to start the flow of the dark amber liquid. I am finding it interesting to read the posts since I first started this thread to get an idea of how this blend is taking off...and how people are reacting to it. Definitely seems to becoming the whisky blend of choice for those of us into single malt Islays. Having finished my glass I can definitely feel the peat aftertaste in my mouth! |

Starting to see this in more NAmerican airport Duty Free shops. YYZ has it at 2 for C$99, DEN was 2 for U$85.
