I was never much of an Easter candy kind of a person, for a number of reasons:
- Hollow bunnies (et al) were out, as I disliked (plain) milk chocolate
- Peeps were out, as I disliked marshmallows (unless ensconced safely within a s'mores)
- Cadbury eggs were out, as they just looked nasty as all &!$%
- Jelly beans were out, as I always seemed to get stuck with the black ones, which tasted nasty as all &!$%

I would have happily pledged my life to ridding the world of these noxious items, but I discovered a Starburst jelly beans several years back, and they are SOOOOOOO yummy that I've forgiven all other Easter candy for existing! And a few years later, when I discovered that the black Starburst jelly beans were grape and not &!$%-flavored, I was even more happy!!!!!

But then I moved to Dubai, where I haven't seen any Starburst jelly beans in 3 different Easter seasons, so I am sad. But at least I haven't seen any nasty Cadbury eggs around either (though in fairness, I haven't looked), so perhaps it's a wash.

So with that randomness aside, let me ask, what are your fav/ least fav Easter treats?

I love the Cadbury mini eggs--not the creme eggs.

Anything dark chocolate from See's, the best!

Fanny May Buttercream Eggs. I like the Milk Chocolate and the Yellow (white chocolate) ones filled with vanilla cream best.

Dark Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs from Kehr's in Milwaukee are delicious.

Jelly Belly Jelly Beans
Stale Peeps...like open and sitting on the counter for a month (anyone else have this affliction?)
Reese's Eggs...bonus peanut butter filling!

But...Those Cadbury Egg things turn my stomach!

Caddbury eggs are way to sweet, and is much better candy out there than Cabury's, if Cabury's were the only candy out there I would really be a thin guy, would rather go without.

The need to only eat sugar-free limits my choices. But I do like the Sees s/f stuff. Peeps are also made in s/f, but are pretty hard to find.

How they make s/f marshmellow? Isn't it basically corn syrup and egg white?

Moved to PHL area from Silicon Valley not too long ago, and oh, do we miss See's! Chocolate butter cream eggs, the best thing in the Easter basket! Surround the center piece with Jelly Belly dye-free fruit beans, and few Hershey's eggs - tradition! - and what more could one ask the Bunny for?

BTW Cadbury caramel eggs are better than the cream ones, but still too sweet.


p.s. the best use for hollow chocolate bunnies/santas is as extra chocolate bits in a batch of cookies

I adore Cadbury Creme Eggs, but everyone thinks I like overly sweet foods and those are the only overly sweet dessert I really like.

I've been enjoying the Sweetarts Jelly Beans.

Also the Starburst Jelly Beans, we used to have them all the time in Australia, we have a lot more starburst stuff then you guys do, gummi fruits & what not. You guys are missing out.

I pretty much only lilke jelly bellys when it comes to Jelly Beans. Juicy Pear and Cotton candy flavored are the best

I'm a sucker for Reese's peanut butter eggs.

The little Cadbury eggs with the hard shell. A whole bag of black jelly beans. I'd be in heaven.

Brach's spiced jelly beans, which you can only get this time of year.

But hands-down favorite is a See's chocolate walnut or Bordeaux egg. Yum! And I can't get them here in TX.
