It was probably determined, by referendum, that fresh oranges, peeled, cause cancer and birth defects. @:-)

You threw out a can of good tomatoes. Heck Whole Foods (Whole Paycheck) sells those cans for about $2.25 each!!! You're right, the can does not show char spots on the tomatoes, just fire flames around the tomatoes.
They have a new one called Fire Roasted Adobo Seasoned Tomatoes...haven't tried yet.
