Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA. My local market closed it out at $6.99/6pack, so I bought the last 3. A very nice hazy.

I'm often puzzled at what beers get closed out. I would have thought that one was at it's peak popularity. Regardless, you got a deal. Now find a the next place that's closing it out.

The store may have decided not to carry it.

It simply wasn't selling. As to why, my guess is we have so many great local breweries in this area (dozens within 50 miles), that folks will rarely buy beer from as far away as Colorado. Just a guess. Also it seems Hazys are just starting to catch on here. Barely.

Latest one today was Save Second Base, an Aslin IPA with vanilla and dragonfruit. Lovely pink color (won't post the suggestive can artwork here, LOL). Actually pretty tasty, too, and they donate some of the proceeds to breast cancer research.

A have a six pack of Yellowhammer Brewing (out of HSV) Rebellion. The can claims that the brew does not conform to any style - German malts and American hops: a crisp malty lager.

Interesting. Have to keep an eye out for it.
Were you able to get home? All good?

My favorite beer used to be Samuel Adams Golden Pilsner! Sam Adams "retired" the recipe, claiming there was little demand. I believe the real reason was, the profit margin was not there anymore!!!

Got myself a custom 4-pack...think I'm going to stop buying packs of 1 beer and just be more focused on sampling, even if it's slightly pricier.

Mikkeller - Queens Riot (this is an excellent hazy DIPA)
Mikkeller - Freddie Murkury (a bit more standard of a DIPA but still very good)
Foreign Objects - Precision Neurosis (has a very faint funky aftertaste at the end - I like it)
Burial Brewing - Gang of Blades (haven't tried this one yet - TBD!)

Not yet. The Bay County Sheriff's Office Facebook page says the roadblocks have been lifted and major highways are clear. We've leaving tomorrow morning. It's not clear that we can get to the house yet, but plan B will mean backtracking to Dothan or someplace north or west. I still need to find my mother in Pensacola and bring her some clothes.

The Gulf Power website shows that there are still thousands at the beach without power but they expect to be substantially complete with restoration west of the bridge by midnight. So we will have a place to go for gas and cold beer. Services for Panama City are still weeks away.
