WiFi for me too. But I think the general flying public would find WiFi useless, since most flyers don't bring laptops with them.

Of course, FTers, business travelers, medallions, etc. are more likely to have a computer on board.

As far as prioritization, WiFi is clearly cheaper to install than AVOD at every seat.

AVOD. I can't hardly open my 15.4 inch screen, work issued laptop in coach in a usable form.

Too many people doing this will choke the wifi connection. It doesn't have that much bandwidth. I hope they block this to be honest.

Sounds like an adequate justification to the bean counters to allow travel in F.

Do you recognize that the technology currently being installed requires land-based towers? Intercontinental wifi is a no-go.

It would be Wifi if the aircraft also provided enough power to charge my laptop. But without power, AVOD.

I hate the AVOD - cause I get the window seat so I can look out and see the world go by at 10k meters. I hate having to put my shade down, or have the glare from the screen flashing from light to dark.

Conversely, using my laptop is pain in coach so I rarely do it and when I do rarely do I need Wifi. I typically use the time to read as said above look out the window.

But as said AVOD is what the general fliers would probably want over Wifi cause it will be free.

What world do you live in? I doubt seriously if most bean counters would see a financial benefit to spending more on F for an employee so that employee can use their laptop with more space.

I don't see why a vote is needed. Why can't we have both? But if I had to choose I would take AVOD. I don't see power ports in coach in the near future unless the fees for wifi show management that installing power ports in coach will pay for themselves and then some quickly. But in coach I will not pull out my laptop - with or without WiFi. I prefer AVOD because I can still use my tray for food and/or drink while enjoying entertainment. I will not pay for the TV channels simply because of the inconsistent satellite reception and selection of channels. Really. Do we need that many ESPN channels? Last night from LAX to FLL almost every channel had infomercials on them or were not working. Fortunately the movie selection included Doubt which I had not seen. Good movie but started a bit slowly.
