I would imagine that many of the essential air service airports have reasonable fares as they are highly subsidized.

I don't think WYS is an essential air service airport, but fares to and from WYS can be 100% cheaper than BZN which has 6 airlines and is only 80 miles away.

I didn't mean no name as in low quality, I meant that I didn't know the name. If I get a client in FPO, I'll check Baer Air out! ^

And it's twice a week, not twice a day.

Yep. For those that are wondering, this is a reference to Matthew Broderick's character in the movie WarGames.

I have limited experience, but I'll give mine.

When looking into flights from TPA to MCN (Macon, GA), they were a bit higher than flights into ATL, but not much. And not nearly as high as flights from TPA to AVL, where DL has some competition.

When looking into late-June flights from SLE-MSY, I found that flights were roughly the same as most carriers flights from PDX-MSY, around $400.

My guess is that it probably has a lot to do with nearby competition. Both MCN and SLE are close to big airports with lots of carriers (ATL and PDX respectively).

I'll be comparing fares for TPA-SLE to fares for TPA-PDX a couple of times a year in the future. SLE is significantly closer to my parent's house, and only a few minutes from my grandmother's house. But PDX is only a few minutes from my brother's house. So I won't have a whole lot of incentive to choose SLE. The biggest problem right now is that the only SLC-TPA flight on the schedule is at 10:15 AM, which works fine for the 6:15 out of SLE, but we NEVER want to catch a flight that early when leaving Oregon. So until DL re-opens another SLC-TPA flight, I doubt we'll be flying out of SLE. Plus it's hard to justify flying on a CRJ out of SLE when I can get on mainline service PDX-ATL.

They're cutting back to 2 flights for the summer. (Note that I meant to say 1-2, not 12).

CVG-

For those of you who live in the Cincinnati area you'll appreciate that. It's worse than ATL.

Fares from MLB usually are higher than at MCO as T fares to markets I fly (BTR, MOB, MSY, NYC, SEA AND LON) generally don't have T fares.

However the difference is often only $30-40 so I'll save the gas/time and fly from MLB

Bump...

Trying to find some expensive DL Biz fares to the carribean and/or Hawaii to use up some TYP's.

Hopefully some biz fares out of DL-only airports are in the $4,200-$4,500 range!

Thanks for your input,
Bostonbali
