If anyone is still looking for a purchase through skymilesshopping, buy.com has some internet security software that's free after rebate, and free shipping. Look for item # 204347585 when you get to buy.com. Even make $10 if you've never used google checkout before.

One of my in-laws got SkyMilesShopping credit two days after downloading a buy.com song. Another has waited over a week to no avail.

When should one contact Buy.com? Is there a way for them to verify SkyMilesShopping.com click-through?

Or is one better off contacting SkyMilesShopping? It seems like in situations like this, there can be problems with accountability -- as happened with NW Fly Free Faster 3 a few years back.

Defintely contact SkyMileshsopping.com via their customer contact form.

I did and I received a response from them in about 10 days or so, and although the miles have yet to post, I was informed by them that they would post within 14 days of the date of the e-mail and that they would be dated as of the date of my purchase. I feel quite comfortable that all will be fine.

Just go the Customer Care screen and fill out the Rewards/Credit form. They will probably want you to wait a few weeks before inquiring. I had a GiftCertificates.com purchase fail to post, and they promptly fixed it. The miles did post with the date of the original transaction.

Just an FYI I called and received the runaround saying I was only eligible for the miles if I could successfully "click through" to a bookable quote that didn't state that a call to Ameriprise was necessary to complete the quote (I was given a quote online but it said to call Ameriprise because they needed more information).
It was obvious the CSR had no good reason to deny me the miles as she was fishing around for some BS reason why I wasn't eligible.

I was given the same message online...so call back and try again. Tell them your quote reference and they should be able to manually input your DL miles Internet support was very helpful when I explained that I did want a quote and really was shopping for auto insurance. I was given a verbal quote that was $300 higher than my current provider. They also told me to try back in 6 months and maybe the rate would be different. That part I'm not entirely convinced it will be lower. The rep can't do it for you, only the internet folks can add miles. Ask to be transfered. That's how I interpreted the whole process.

Yes, the first person I talked to couldn't help with the internet quote, so transferred me to the internet people. I went through the quote a bit with them ($100 more than my current insurance) and then I told them I was calling because my miles hadn't yet posted. She went on to tell me that you can only get the miles if you were able to complete the quote online. Perhaps a bad agent? Perhaps I was talking to Internet Sales instead of Internet Support? Perhaps you got lucky?

I think you need to call back and ask for internet support after you speak with an agent who will update your record. They already had my SkyMiles # on file...so it does work and fast too!. I have done this same process a few years ago and it still works the same. I even got the same CSR I spoke with. My last quote was given a reference # and the website said to call for more information (I didn't actually complete it either on line). I hope this helps.

Well, I guess I'll try again, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for the help though

Do you think these two posts will count towards this promo?

Also, do you qualify if you regisered after you earned some of these points?

A friend is in the same situation.

Technically, the T&C only state you need to register during some period. They do not require you to register prior to your first activity. Hopefully Delta's programming isn't smart enough to look for this anyway.

Yeah, good luck with Ameriprise.

I've received two different replies from customer service (two weeks apart from an initial complaint and a follow-up), each stating explicitly that the Delta miles would be posted by the end of the week (both replies came on Monday/Tuesday). Of course that happened neither time. Sent another follow-up today, but I'm not hopeful.

I got through the entire internet quote system to a final quote without a problem.

I've also failed to receive miles from the Ameriprise Financial Planner promo (I haven't pushed on the follow-up for that yet).

My Spreadsheet

I read thru the thread and am not sure if I would get 5K bonus.

So far, I've completed:
1. e-Rewards redemption (posted)
2. Clothing Care Reg (posted)
3. idine on 5/21
4. Ameriprise auto quote on 5/21 (after reading the last couple posts, now I am not sure if the miles will be coming at all, let alone the 5/31 deadline)
5. MCR redemption (posted)
6. Points/Hotspex swap (posted)

Some may be "borderline" activities, such as MCR. Am I safe with at least 5 unique partner activities at this points? Not sure if I should try SkyMilesShopping for Buy.com music download soon. Any thought?

Also, should I follow up with Ameriprise auto quote? I had no problem getting miles with a completed quote online last fall though.

TIA.

Thank you both.

I guess we had gotten spoiled by the post within two days. The others all showed up today, from six to eight days after their purchase/music downloads from Buy.com. Perhaps Buy.com does a weekly sweep. So all's well that ends well, at least for us.

The ability to verify or prove one's click-through seems like the "weak link" in customer certainty of miles eventually posting, so it pays to be tediously careful, erasing cookies if necessary.

A buy.com download at 99 seems good insurance against an Ameriprise auto quote failure.

As long as the correct transaction date is recorded, the fact that it doesn't eventually post until after 31 May 07 should not be a problem.
