Accumulation of Delta SkyMiles
You will continue to accumulate double miles for qualifying Delta Air Lines purchases. However, we are eliminating all other categories of
"Always Double Miles purchases." For billing periods that begin on or after January 1, 2009, the definition of "Always Double Miles
Purchases" in the Agreement Regarding the Accumulation of Delta SkyMiles in Connection with Your Delta Reserve Credit Card is deleted,
and the reference to "Always Double Miles Purchases" in the first paragraph of that Agreement is deleted and replaced with "Delta Purchases."
If your Card Account was opened on or after November 1, 2007, this change will not go into effect for your Card Account until one year after the
date your Card Account was opened.

Yes, it sucks, and they should just rename it "seldom double miles". But, it's already discussed in detail in another thread:

It hasn't been changed in AmEx's Terms and Conditions. So I would say no.

Will I earn double miles from AmEx on a NW ticket purchase?

If DL and NW are now one, shouldn't I earn double miles by purchasing a seat on a NW flight with my Skymiles AmEx?

-Ticket must be issued on 006 (DL code) ticket number.
-When NW stops issuing tickets on their ticket number or u stop using NW to issue tickets. Book on DL.COM using DL flight numbers if u want 2x.

DL is more expensive than the same flight booked on NW, unless I'm doing something wrong.

You're probably not doing anything wrong. Just yesterday I booked a ticket on DL.com for a NW operated flight. The one way fare was $153 through DL.com and over $600 for the same flight on nwa.com.

That happens...and so if you want the 2x miles, you have to go purchase the dl.com fare.

Sorry.

OP - have you called Amex to ask ? Dont take their scripted answer, ask them to escalate to their Delta liaison for an exception. Maybe you can set a precedent for the rest of us =D

No double miles on Amex DL Gold spending for transferring miles?

Today I got my DL Amex gold statement, which included a SM mileage transfer. Since I spent money with DL I expected to receive double miles on the money I spent on the mileage transfer, but I didn't.

Last fall I did a mileage transfer as well and I remember that I did receive the double miles then (when it was still called "always double miles"). Does anyone know if double miles for DL spending nowadays is limited to booking flights? Or is it because points.com now handles the mileage transfers? Points.com is mentioned on my CC statement.

Any insight is appreciated, so I can call Amex and complain about this.
