Is a Lb of Coffee a "Dining Experience"?

I bought a pound of coffee in a coffee shop that participates in Delta's Dining for Miles program. The shop only has one credit card machine so my assumption is that I will be credited with Delta miles for the "dining experience."

Any insight as to how the process works? I assume that Dining for Miles sees only a dollar amount, not any purchase description.

I often buying bottled soda from a mexican cafe nearby. I show up there once a month (it's one of the places where only one visit per month counts) , buy a few bottles of Sprite and get iDine points for it. Never had a problem.

Is the coffee shop you are talking about in DC (from your username) ? If so, please post which one

The Foster Brothers Coffee Shop across from the Uptown Theater. Another Foster Brothers on Wisconsin Avenue is also participating.

From what I have learned here is that such a purchase can make the difference having enough miles for a transatlantic BC vs. coach

Thanks. Just checked the Idine website, and apparently it's one of the "Unlimited Vist" places.
Another great reason to swich from Starbucks.

Good catch. Unfortunately no downtown location is participating so no morning runs for me.

DC Flyer, Try Donna's Coffee Bar if you have one near you. We have plenty in Baltimore/Columbia. I buy a pound of coffee for $10...get a card for a free coffee drink (could be worth $4.00) and 100 miles.

Apparently there is one Donna's downtown:

Thanks. I work near Metro Center but it sounds like a good place to walk to over the noon hour.
