No more First Class Awards on Air France
Here's the section in their on-line newsletter than I'm referring to. There may be a way of avoiding this on some Air France transatlantic flights - couldn't you book it as a Delta award on an Air France code-share that is operated by Air France?
Program Update: Air France Award Redemption.
For Award redemption on Air France flights, SkyMiles
members will continue to be able to redeem Awards on the
Concorde, as well as in Business and Economy Classes.
Air France Award redemption in First Class will be
discontinued effective September 1, 1999. Requests for
First Class Awards must be postmarked prior to
September 1, 1999, and all travel must be completed by
August 31, 2000. SkyMiles mileage accrual will still apply
to all applicable classes for travel on Air France.

can't have your partners outshining your service...except for Concorde. Must be having to do with Business Elite.
btw--was in ATL this wkend and overheard some consultant-types saying that B-E is better than DL's old first class--do they have in B-E the noise-cancelling headphones like UAL?
