Each Xmas I send an anonymous gift to my neighbor who is having ongoing financial problems. I have usually gone to Target, Best Buy, etc, and bought gift cards. This year, I was thinking I should send cash instead, yet I hate the thought of sending cash through the mail. So the notion of a cheque card is intriguing to me.
My question is: Is there any notation anywhere indicating who bought the gift card? Would there be any way for her to trace it back to me? Because it's essential to me that I remain anonymous.
Any idea?

Just send a money order. They won't know who bought it, It's good for cash at no charge to the recipient, and (unless you're really generous) you can probably get one for 25c at your local grocery store.

I don't think these miles are for travellers check card. I got these miles posted as well. Its for the insurance quote I completed long time back. I ordered my TCC in mid-October and am still waiting for 2500 miles to post.

How long have you had to wait on your card since you ordered? I know they say 10 business days, but what is the usual turnaround?
I ordered mine today and I wonder if it comes in before the end of next week.

I just got my $25 gift card today. That was actually pretty fast. No sign of the miles yet, of course.

If you use your Amex card, does it get charged as a cash advance or purchase (with full grace period)?

As mentioned above, they do monitor accounts for churning (frequent cash in/cash out).
